I graduated in 1961. I remember well the great teachers, including Mr. Bill Walsh who later claimed famed as the Head Coach of the SF 49ers.

School activities range from lunch time student based activities as well as sometimes fun rallies to get kids motivated and inspired at school.

The faculty is on point and does everything it can to ensure the students are excelling academically as well as making school a fun place.

All and all the school is perfect, though if I could change anything, I would like to see the school become a little bit more racially diverse, even though Washington is already a pretty racially mixed school. I would just like to see a little bit more of "color" in the student body. Otherwise, I will forever be proud to say I bleed orange and black

It's good school, but it does not take 18 years old students into school. They say you have to go to Adult School.

Being a recent graduate, I am proud to say that I loved this school. The teachers that I had (considering a lot are going away) were phenomenal. Nine times out of ten they knew what they were doing. I don't know much about the incoming teachers but a few that I have had the chance to meet and become friends with have received mentoring from the "seasoned" teachers and are becoming a perfect replacement for those educators that are leaving.

I also like the fact that a lot of the sports provided by the school push the students to be the best they can be while having fun. Some coaches can be a little more spirited than others when it comes to the sport because of their passion for the sport. Being an athlete I loved that dedication. These experiences with the team will positively affect a student because, in my opinion, it teaches them team work and overall helps them socially... Or at least that is what it did for me.

Graduated from this school a few months from now, and I got to admit that the teachers at Washington are friendly, helpful, and really want you to succeed, also the principal and vice-principal, are very friendly as well. I really recommend attending to Washington!

Having been an alumni from the mid-late 80's, it's good to see the school's reputation is still standing. During the 90's it was really unfortunate that it went through a very tough time with the mass influx of new residents to the area. I personally LOVED IT! Although it would be really cool to NOT see an FPD car in the parking lot and to see the prison bars taken down, but perhaps that has been an improvement. I just hope the school's spirit hasn't declined either. But in any case, I would support any improvement the school may need to succeed, I know back in the day, if you were WHS, you were family.
